Olympic Qualification and Athlete Selection Process
Finish in the top 15 of the FIVB Provisional Olympic Rankings (max two per country per gender). If more than two American duos are in the top 15, only the two top-ranked teams will compete at the Tokyo Olympics.
Olympic ranking points can be earned at FIVB World Tour events. Teams must play at least 12 FIVB events between June 1, 2018, and June 27, 2021. If a team plays in more than 12 events, only points from the top 12 results are counted.
