I can see what the world has done to you
I can feel the weight
Feel the weight

I can see what this life has handed you
I can feel the weight
Feel the weight

This time, this time
Things'll work out just fine
We won't let you slip away
This time, this time
Things'll work out just fine
We won't let you leave this way
If you want you can will it
You can have it
I can put it right there in your hands

I can hear what the spirits are telling you
I can clear the weight
Clear the weight

I can see all the wolves as they circle you
I can crush the weight
Crush the weight

This time, this time
Things'll work out just fine
We won't let you slip away
This time, this time
Things'll work out just fine
We won't let you leave this way
If you want you can will it
You can have it
I can put it right there in your hands

This time, this time
Things'll work out just fine
We won't let you slip away
This time, this time
Things'll work out just fine
We won't let you leave this way
If you want you can will it
You can have it
I can put it right there in your hands

    My Interpretation

I'd say that this song is about suicidal depression, pure and simple.

Every like basically contributes to this, and the band are like a group of friends that can stop a person from taking their own life. The song is basically reassuring the listener that things will be okay, and that they will do their best to help.

The spirits and wolves represent psychosis, hearing voices, and ones ability to hurt oneself. Slipping away indicates quietly offing oneself. Weight is the depression.

Also, I'd say that the music video is somehow related - suggesting perhaps there are things to live for, such as dat booty twerkin.

I think this song may be the evolution of addict, starting at a first time user who is depressed and stressed.

"I can see what the world has done to youI can feel the weightFeel the weight

I can see what this life has handed youI can feel the weightFeel the weight"

Is the drug talking to him, showing that he understands your problems and can help you deal with them by using whatever drug he is taking.

"This time, this timeThings'll work out just fineWe won't let you slip awayThis time, this timeThings'll work out just fineWe won't let you leave this wayIf you want you can will itYou can have itI can put it right there in your hands"

I believe this line is from the addict saying to himself, just one more dose/hit and he will be okay, everything will work out and he has the will or power to beat the stress or depression down. The drug then says that it can grant his wishes, he only needs to do it.

"I can hear what the spirits are telling youI can clear the weightClear the weight

I can see all the wolves as they circle youI can crush the weightCrush the weight"

The drug is in his mind, saying that he hears what people say about his addiction and he can make it go away. The drug can also see his problems and he can deal with all of them for him.

    Song Meaning

From what I can tell, without making any blatant assumptions, the song seems to be about helping someone you care about out of something of a tight jam, basically.

I mean, it seems fairly straightforward, in that regard...

"I can see what the world has done to you"Is recognizing that said friend/family member is a bit of a bind.

"This time, this timeThings'll work out just fineWe won't let you slip away"Is basically saying "Look, we're gonna help you as best we can, we're not just gonna let you burn".

Of course, that's just one man's opinion.

The fact that it's Brann Dailor saying "This time things will work out just fine" says it all.

As you probably know, Crack The Skye was about Brann Dailor's younger sister's suicide. It seems to me that this song is obviously about a similar episode that Brann is now experiencing, with another woman in his life. He is telling himself that this time he recognizes what is happening and he won't let it get that bad, other wise what "time" in the past could he be referring to when he says "this time" ? he is reassuring himself "This time, this time, things will work out just fine." This is the connection that the rest of you seem to have missed.

This song is about a woman going through a midlife crisis. The motherload has gotten too much for her and shes questioning all that she has or never had.The grass is always greener and all that sh*t.A massive problem. Together these times can be beater and people can come out better WITHOUT leaving theyre partners. Together stronger!

Love in a Vacuum 'Til Tuesday Well, in my opinion this song is about being a young & maybe a little naive &/or introverted girl and finding yourself loving a man who is at first very charming, carefree & outgoing, and seems at first to be without limits, as in "There was a timeyou opened up every doorwayyou didn't mind if everythingwasn't your way"then that man starts to gradually become more introverted & shows their more possessive/obsessive side to you as the relationship progresses, even while they keep up the appearance of being carefree & outgoing to everyone else,"Don't pull awaythat goes against what you told meI look in your eyes I realize what you've sold meis love in a vacuum"so you confront them about the way they're acting and of course they deny it,"I think you've changedbut you insist thatthat's not true"quite possibly they are an addict of some sort, my guess would be cocaine, &/or showing very obsessive behavior towards you (early on in the video for this song we see the man hanging a picture up, it is a very large portrait of Aimee & it is prominently displayed in his/their apartment for the duration of the song), thus their "love in a vacuum","You look so strange, so distantthat you're hardly youNow I can seehow you have been acting differentYou say it's mebut I knowthat it isn'tit's love in a vacuum"but still you are in love with them and don't want to leave them and you know that they are truly in love with you and they don't want you to leave them either, maybe they are convinced you can save them from themself, maybe they are so broken that the possibility of an overdose &/or suicide attempt is very real and you want to get through to them that their behavior not only dangerous but it is also just pissing you off and if they don't wise up they run the risk of loosing you, as in the lines"You will be lonelyif you leave me alone", so you want to save them but can't get through to them due to the addiction &/or emotional problems they have, "Love in a vacuumand that's not enoughlove in a vacuumYou will be lonelyyou'll be the only one who feels this wayYou will be lonelyif you leave me alone You will be lonelyyou'll be the only one who feels this wayit's just not enough"you want them to understand that the love they are giving you is not enough when it is filtered through the vacuum of their drug addiction &/or emotional impairment, "You will be lonelyyou'll be the only one who feels this wayit's just not enoughand just waityou will be lonelyLove in a vacuumLove in a vacuum and that's not enoughLove in a vacuum".'Love In A Vacuum' for me is a hauntingly truthful acute argument on the loneliness of obsession and almost inevitable loss of love that follows people who are broken in some way or another; the obsessives, the co*ke heads, the drunks, addicts or the just-plain-old emotionally broken; a razor sharp, lyrically driven, deceptively poppy, yet ultimately-depressing-in-the-best-way song. Quintessential Aimee Mann. The Spy Doors, The Like a lot of the other comments are saying, I think this mainly about voyeurism. If the song was about his girlfriend, then why would he use the word spy. If you are a spy it means you shouldn't be caught, that is kind of the whole point, and if you are a voyeur, the whole point of the pleasure you get from it, is the fact that the other people don't know you are watching them. See a bit of a connection there? when rules change Life in Your Way High life Fortnight Taylor Swift The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro. Cajun Girl Little Feat Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future.Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere"The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
