Tasty and Fun Snack

Nothing says comfort food like these fluffy Biscuits! When they are warm from the oven, they are such a treat.

This classic recipe couldn’t be easier to make, either. Maple Sausage Cheddar Biscuits come together in a snap.

Just whip up the biscuit dough, drop it on the baking sheet, and bake. No need to roll or cut the dough!

When you use a 1-1/4 inch scooper, the end result are, 110, 2-inch mini biscuits. If you would like to use a scoop like the one I used, you can find that here.

Ingredients for Cheesy Sausage Biscuit Recipe

Just 5 simple ingredients to make this recipe.

  • Sausage:You can use almost any sausage you want here, I like to use the breakfast sausage patties diced. However, other delicious options are Italian sausage, spicy sausage, or breakfast sausage. If the sausage is uncooked, precook it and break it up before adding to the biscuit dough.
  • CheddarCheese. I tend to use a mild cheddar cheese in this recipe. However, for the best flavor, I suggest using sharp cheddar, but almost any grated cheese will work.
  • Eggs.
  • Bisquick. Bisquick is a self-rising flour. If you can’t find self-rising flour, you can substitute with a mixture of 2 cups all-purpose flour, 3 teaspoons baking powder and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
  • Milk. I use whole milk; however, this turns out great with buttermilk.

What condiment goes on Sausage Biscuit?

The choice of condiment for a Sausage Biscuit can vary based on personal preference, but here are a few popular options that complement the savory and sometimes slightly sweet flavors of the sausage and biscuit combination:

  1. Gravy: Sausage biscuits and gravy are a classic Southern comfort food. A creamy and flavorful sausage gravy poured over the biscuit adds a rich and hearty element to the dish.
  2. Mustard: Dijon or whole grain mustard can provide a tangy kick that pairs well with the savory notes of the sausage.
  3. Hot Sauce: For those who enjoy a bit of heat, hot sauce can add a spicy and zesty element to your sausage biscuit.
  4. Ketchup: A classic choice, ketchup adds a touch of sweetness and acidity that can complement the flavors of the sausage.
  5. Maple Syrup: If your sausage biscuit has a hint of sweetness, a drizzle of maple syrup can enhance the overall flavor profile, creating a sweet and savory balance.
  6. Honey: Similar to maple syrup, honey adds a natural sweetness that can enhance the biscuit and sausage combination.

Ultimately, the best condiment is the one that aligns with your taste preferences. Feel free to experiment with different combinations to discover your perfect pairing for a delicious Sausage Biscuit experience.

Freeze these Smaller Biscuits

I place in plastic freezer containers. No special work to freeze these maple sausage cheese biscuits.

These fluffy biscuits freeze well too. We have two containers in the freezer right now. when we need a biscuit to go with a meal, an appetizer, or snack, they are ready and waiting. Just take out of the freezer and let thaw on the counter for an hour or so.

How to Reheat Sausage Cheddar Cheese Biscuits

If you want them all warmed up again, once thawed, place them on a baking sheet and place in an oven for 10 minutes at 250 degrees F. Delicious.

I don’t recommend microwaving them to reheat as the biscuit dough tends to get a bit rubbery if cooked too long.
